Duffy the Disney Bear
A lot of people say he isn’t Disney, or is a “nobody” when it comes to Disney. Truthfully, he is Disney, and has every right to be a huge part of it, including the parks. Duffy is what they consider, “The Build-A-Bear” for all the Disney Characters. But, he didn’t just originate that way. Duffy was a gift Minnie made for Mickey. She made him a bear, for him to take with him when he were to go away, and she wasn’t with him. It was her way of letting him know she was always going to be with him. When he became a merchandise for people to buy and have, it was a way for us to understand the story. Maybe a guy would buy one for his girlfriend for the same reason, or vice versa. And, in my opinion, having a Duffy as your own, reminds you that Disney will always be with you, no matter where you go, or how old you become. Duffy the Disney Bear is a memory and reminder. He isn’t useless or a “nobody.” He is a lovable character, who can be loved just as much as any other character.
